Important Technical Note

CenTradeX Solutions, like most dynamically delivered websites, depend upon the use of several required configuration settings on your network, computer and browser to function properly.  Most reported issues have been due to disallowed session cookies, blocked pop-ups (our results screens), browser incompatibility or overly stringent network security.

If you are experiencing technical difficulties, first check to see that the following have been set correctly in your browser.  Screenshot

  • Cookies enabled : In your IE browser open Tools > Internet Options > Privacy (tab)> Sites Button (type in our web site)
  • Pop-ups allowed: Uncheck the check box that says “Block pop-ups” AND set the privacy zone to at least Medium (if low)
  • Also (under Privacy) > Advanced Button (check “Override auto cookie handling” AND check “...allow session cookies”
  • To view our dynamically created charts, you must install Flash Player (with ActiveX) on your computer.

The above settings should clear up most technical issues encountered.  However, if you receive “error” messages, also consider:

  • Only open one CentradeX browser window (session) at a time.  Close unused (multiple) CenTradeX windows.
  • Sessions variables (view, product, country or state) expire in 20 minutes, resulting in “errors”.  Close browser and start again.
  • Avoid using the browser “BACK” button to navigate (sometimes results in lost “sessions”).  Instead, try using the active LINKS.
  • Refrain from repetitive clicking, if results are delayed.  If repeated errors occur, close your browser window and start again.
  • Sometimes there is no data available for your request.  Zero results have been (incorrectly) interpreted as “errors”.

If you still have issues, confirm with your Network Administrator that current security settings don’t disallow access.

For improved performance, you may also want to consider:

  • Preferred Platform: PC(versus MAC) based hardware and operating systems.  Monitor resolution of 1024 x 768 (or higher).
  • Preferred Browser: Internet Explorer 6.0+.  There have been some reported problems with other browsers.
  • CenTradeX was developed for viewing via a high speed internet connection.  DSL and Dial-up won’t work very well!

As a matter of convenience, these IE browser settings may also be helpful.

  • Also (under Advanced) verify that needed Browsing, Multimedia and Security settings have been enabled.
  • Other IE settings: Also under Tools > Internet options >General (tab)> Settings (Check “every visit to the page”)
  • Easy Log-in: As above, but under Content (tab) >Personal Information > Auto Complete button > check appropriate boxes

If, after you have employed the suggestions above, you still experience difficulties… please contact us immediately.  We want to help you.  In order to better resolve your particular technical issue quickly, please send us a “screen shot” of the error (by pressing “Print Screen” on your keyboard and pasting it into the body of your e-mail) along with a detailed description of the problem.  If possible, please include the URL (copied from your browser window), your chosen variables (view, country, product and/or state) along with the browser and type of computer you use.
