What is CenTradeX?

CenTradeX offers companies worldwide competitive advantage by providing the freshest and most comprehensive trade information available anywhere, all in an easy-to-search, web-based database that displays results graphically.  With trade information about 200 countries, all 50 U.S. States, millions of companies worldwide and every category of manufactured product, CenTradeX provides a peerless range of the data you need to make the best strategic decisions.

In less than a minute, CenTradeX can help you get a global view of your market's history, current trade balance, forecast and competitors and can find detailed information about your competitors as well as potential suppliers, shippers and buyers.

CenTradeX draws information from an unparalleled range of reliable sources, making it your most complete source of information about market opportunities, trends and dangers.

Can CenTradeX analyze global markets?

Not only can CenTradeX help you analyze global markets, but also do it in less than a minute.

CenTradeX offers trade data for millions of companies and 200 countries worldwide and international tariff and transportation information, too.  Since CenTradeX contains data from every category of the Harmonized Code, you can be sure that we have information about the product you're researching.

How does it work?

CenTradeX makes doing a global market search easy and fast.  Since different users prefer different search methods, CenTradeX allows you to begin your inquiry using the starting point most familiar to you, whether company name, product keywords, Harmonized Codes, NAICS Codes, SIC Codes or even an alphabetized list of products for hard to spell items like Toluidines.

CenTradeX's graphic interface displays trade information about the market you are researching in relation to the top 10 import and export markets worldwide.  With just a few clicks on your mouse, you also can display import and export trends and gather precise data about the number of units sold to various markets, the price per unit (PPU) and the dollar value of those sales.

After you have obtained the big picture about the industry or product you are researching, it's easy to uncover detailed information about your competitors, about potential trading partners and about prospects who might want to buy what you sell.

Can CenTradeX customize a solution for my company or organization?

CenTradeX can tailor an interface just for your organization to provide only the information and views that you need.  We've already done that for global trade collaboratives, four U.S. regional trade associations and the world's fifth largest economy, the State of California.  And we'd be glad to do it for you.

Solutions for non-U.S. countries that want to increase their share of the world market

CenTradeX is the only trade information company to offer 101 country websites with customized views of the world marketplace from the perspective of each individual country.  Each website focuses on products produced in the featured country, points out the best countries in which to sell those products and puts sellers in touch with primary customers in the best potential markets.  As always, CenTradeX presents information in an easy-to-use graphic interface.

Solutions for U.S. States that want to export to global markets

CenTradeX offers customized views of the world marketplace from the perspective of each U.S. State, too.  As with our country websites, each State website focuses on products produced in the featured State, points out the countries that purchase the highest volume of those products and puts suppliers in touch with primary buyers in the best potential markets.  CenTradeX presents information in an easy-to-use graphic interface.

Can CenTradeX help me reach companies abroad?

Indeed.  In less than a minute, CenTradeX can identify firms around the world that buy or sell the products you're researching.

In many cases, CenTradeX has direct contact information-not just the street address, but also telephone numbers and email addresses for key executives within the company-speeding your access to the decision makers you need to reach.

In addition, CenTradeX supplies information about the company's financial performance, number of employees, credit rating and length of time in business.

  • distribution
  • purchasing

Additionally, CenTradeX serves business development needs of global trade collaboratives such as the Corporate Council on Africa, four U.S. regional trade associations and the world's fifth largest economy, the State of California.

CenTradeX is also proud to be the choice of leading universities for the graduate education of their business students and of corporate librarians at some of the world's foremost companies.

How reliable is data?

You can rely on the soundness and accuracy of CenTradeX's information.  CenTradeX extracts tariff, import and export data from hundreds of trusted sources including the World Customs Organization, the International Trade Association, the World Trade Association, U.S. Customs, the Financial News Network, the United Nations and the U.S. Census Bureau, as well as from the reporting agencies of countries around the world and the same commercial sources that supply many other well-known data companies.

In addition, CenTradeX taps reputable proprietary sources to bring you hard-to-find financial and contact information about non-U.S. companies, providing you a unique competitive advantage.

When data reported by different sources conflict, we report them side-by-side to provide a balanced view.

How current is data?

You won't find data fresher than CenTradeX's.  We update much of our U.S. company information in real-time via live news feeds.  Other U.S. company data and new U.S. trade data arrive quarterly.  Transportation and tariff data renew twice yearly, whereas updates to world, U.S. and U.S. state data emerge at least annually.  Please note, however, that certain reporting countries have a lag time of 18 months compared with about five months for the U.S.  In all cases the data are the most current numbers available.

CenTradeX also offers historical data back to 1989 and projections up to 2009.

What is the Harmonized Code?

The Harmonized Code classifies the manufactured items and commodities in transnational shipments in numeric categories that range from very broad two-digit categories to very specific 10-digit categories.  Customs uses the Harmonized Code, or Harmonized System, to determine what duties (tariffs), taxes and clearance requirements apply to shipments.

CenTradeX contains data from every 10-digit category of the Harmonized Code, providing you the detail you need about the products relevant to your business.  You also can search CenTradeX using NAICS Codes or SIC Codes, or you can search by country, industry and product keyword.

Why should I choose CenTradeX?

CenTradeX can propel your enterprise to unparalleled competitive advantage by providing you the information you need to make the best strategic decisions about your market, all in less than a minute.
